Winter or summer you will enjoy your visit to the Snowy Mountains
region! There's no better place to stay than at Happy Valley; a thousand
acre rural property near Adaminaby.
A quiet and peaceful place, where you will always experience genuine old
style country hospitality.
You will see sheep and cattle, and kangaroos are usually to be found at
the homestead door.
Happy Valley is centrally located to our many local attractions. You
can:
- Visit mountain stockmen's huts and century old gold mines
- Swim in a thermal pool
- Walk through a cave
- Bush walk in summer
- Ski in winter
- Trout fish on Lake Eucumbene year round (5 min. south)
- Trout fish the Murrumbidgee River (5 min. north)
Or simply explore the farm and relax. There is a dam stocked
with rainbow trout. For the youngsters there is a dam with yabbies.
We have seen children work hard all day to catch a bucket full of yabbies,
then at nightfall tip them back in the dam. Then repeat the exercise
again the next day. The fun is definitely in the catching.
Happy Valley has one of the best wildflower
displays in Australia. Also lots of animals and birdlife are to be seen.
The view from the top of the hill behind the
homestead is magnificent and well worth the pleasant walk in the bush
to get there.
